Bloom time: Mid spring

Height: 6-8"

Exposure: Part shade to full shade

Growing information:

Primula, also known as primrose, are native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere and are highly valued for their vibrant flowers and attractive foliage.

Primula plants thrive in partial shade to full shade conditions. They prefer bright, indirect light and should be protected from intense sunlight, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

Primula plants prefer moist, well-draining soil. A soil mix that is rich in organic matter, such as compost or peat moss, is ideal. Water your primula regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

Primula plants thrive in cool temperatures, ideally between 50°F and 65°F (10°C to 18°C).

To promote healthy growth and abundant flowering, fertilize your primula plants with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer packaging for the correct dosage.

Primula plants are generally resistant to pests and diseases. However, they can occasionally be affected by aphids, slugs, or powdery mildew. Monitor your plants regularly and take appropriate measures.
